Homemade Granola | Tusigemaakte Granola

This wheat and refined sugar free Granola is the perfect start to the day. Crunchy, toasty and packed full of healthy fats, fibre and yummy goodness.

Ingredients:

6 c rolled oats
1 c

pumpkin seeds

1 c sunflower seeds
1 c desiccated coconut
½ c poppy seeds (optional)
1 c sliced almonds
1 c cashew nuts
1 c whole almonds / pecan nuts
2 t ground cinnamon
pinch ground nutmeg
½ c coconut oil
1 c raw honey
1 t vanilla extract
1 t salt
1 c raisins / cranberries

Method:

Mix all of the dry ingredients except for the salt & raisins. Heat the oil and honey over low heat and add the vanilla and salt and pour over the dry ingredients.  Mix well.  Spread over 2 baking sheets and bake for 45 minutes at 120ºC stirring occasionaly. Stir in raisins or other dried fruit once the mixture is evenly toasted and leave to cool completly.  Store in an airtight container.

Serve with hot or cold milk or some Homemade Yogurt.

Yields about 2 kg of Granola

6 k   hawermout
1 k  

pampoen sade

1 k   soneblom sade
1 k   klapper
½ k   poppie sade (optioneel)
1 k   gesnyde amandels
1 k   kashew neute
1 k   heel amandels / pekanneute
2 t   gemaalde kaneel
knippie   gemaalde neutmuskaat
½ k
  klapper olie
1 k   rou heuning
1 t   vanielje ekstrak
1 t   sout
1 k   rosynetjies / bosbessies

Metode:

Meng ale die droë bestandele behalwe die sout en rosyntjies.  Verhit die olie en heuning oor lae hitte.  Voeg die sout en vanielje by en gooi oor die droë bestandele. Meng goed. Versprei die mengsel uit in 2 bakplate en bak teen 120ºC vir 45 minute, roer af en toe.  Roer die rosyntjies of enige ander gedroogde vrugte deur die mengsel, sodra die egalig gerooster is.  Laat heeltemal afkoel en stoor in 'n lugdigte houer.

Bedien saam met warm of koue melk of Tuisgemaakte Jogurt
